Metropolitan Clubs

The Mid North Coast Amateur Radio Group was formed in March 2007 with the mission of providing quality repeater systems and internet linking for the Mid North Coast Region of NSW for the use of all amateurs.

The provision of a comprehensive technical web site along with an on going range of technical projects to build and radio and electronic kits. The web site also provides a platform for all group members to submit projects to share and a forum to discuss technical matters relating to amateur radio.

A corner stone of the group is to host a Radio Expo each year in the Coffs Harbour Region to show case to the amateur community and general public the latest in equipment, kits, books, activities and advances in the hobby of amateur radio.

Most of all, the group aims to have fun in the hobby of amateur radio, be inclusive of all and be progressive.

The club owns and maintains a 70 cm repeater located at Dorrigo NSW. Frequencies are TX 438.125 and RX 433.125 with a receive CTCSS of 123.0Hz. Repeater call sign is VK2RMG. T.O.T is 3.00mins and morse ID every 10.00 mins.

The Club also owns and maintains a 2 Mtr service located at Bruxner Park that covers the Coffs Harbour City and surrounds on TX 146.750 Mhz RX 146.150 with a receive CTCSS of 123Hz. Repeater call VK2RCB. T.O.T is 3.00mins with and morse ID every 10.00mins.

IRLP Node 6625 owned and maintained also by MNCARG Inc is on the 2 Mtr service and calls are most welcome anytime.

Meetings

The group meets on a monthly basis at various locations on the Mid North Coast. Please refer the the groups web site for the next meeting location.

Everyone is invited to attend, especially YLs and XYLs.

Meetings are generally held in local licenced clubs, in the family bistro area and we start by having a sit down lunch, in pleasent air condition surroundings and general social chat followed by a short group meeting.

At the conclusion of the meeting many stay on for a coffee or tea.

Club Activities & Events

The Mid North Coast Radio Expo is held in Coffs Harbour each
January and this is "the event" in the Coffs Region. Not to be missed. Over 20 exhibitors showcase antennas, equipment,ALL major brands of radios available for sale, test gear, parts and accessories. Plus lucky door prizes every hour, trivia quiz, guessing comps, home brew display, kit sales, WIA Book Shop, WICEN and other emergency services displays, community group displays and club displays.
