Suburban Clubs

EGARC is a small club covering East Gippsland from Maffra in the west to Mallacoota in the East and in general the area south of the Great Dividing Range. We oversee a repeater network with VK3REB 146.900 mhz at Mt Nowa Nowa east of Bairnsdale, VK3REG 146.650 mhz at Mt Cann north of Orbost ( see the picture in the upper right hand corner )and VK3REM 147.150 MHZ at Maramingo Hill north of Mallacoota.
These 2 metre repeaters are linked using UHF link equipment.
The UHF repeater VK3RTU 439.525 mhz at Mt Taylor north west of Bairnsdale is now back on air. Signal strength reports would be greatly appreciated. Reports can be made to VK3ZAN on VK3REB or to the Blog page of www.vk3egc.org, the club website.

Meetings

Club Meetings are held every 4th Sunday of the month. The first meeting for the year will be in Bairnsdale in January 2011. The last meeting for the year is held in November at the RSL Bairnsdale ( on the corner of Princes Highway and Forge Creek Road opposite the Bairnsdale Hospital ) usually in the "Rivers Room". The Annual General Meeting is also held here in July

The next meeting of the Club will be held on Sunday 26th February 2012 The Meeting will be at the RSL rooms Bairnsdale with the Meeting commencing at 1-30 pm
A midday meal is available from 12noon.

Club Activities & Events

NOTE - IRLP has been closed down until early in 2012. ECHO-LINK will continue through VK3RTU The Club IRLP node #6008 is now accessable through VK3REB. Access is 24/7. We are in the process of adding more functionality and the codes will be made available on our club website when this process is complete. The EchoLink node 362226 is attached to VK3RTU Mt Taylor on 439.525 MHZ.

There is a Net each Monday evening at 2000 hours on VK3REB ( 146.900 ) and is open to anyone wishing to check in.

The WIA Broadcast is now heard on VK3REB on Sunday Mornings at 1030 hrs and Wednesday Evenings at 2000 hours. These broadcasts will be followed by an automated check-in procedure. Please announce your callsign. After 20 seconds these callsigns will be played back.

Upcoming Courses and Assessments

Exam confirmations are to be made with Bob VK3ZAN. No fees are required for Trial Upgrade Exams.
Exams are conducted at Paynesville at mutually agreed times.
