Introduction
Prior to WIA Affiliation in August 2005, the "Toowoomba And Downs Wireless Group" [TADWG] consisted of retired men who are interested in the "History, Operation (Theory) and Construction of Crysal and simple Valve sets. A free course through Toowoomba U3A was provided by Matthew Weatherley VK4TMW, a WIA Club Assessor and Learning Organiser, assisting candidates in obtaining an Amateur Licence. After affiliation Foundation Licence courses have been added to TADWG courses.
This is an amateur and non-amateur Radio Club, however there continues to be a crossover of Amateurs participating in the History course and vice versa. While there is no annual subscription contact the Secretary for membership requirements.
Meetings
All meetings are at 18 Blue Gum Drive, Highfields (near Toowoomba) Queensland, primarily providing free tuition in:
1) 'History, Operation (Theory) and Construction of Wireless Sets in Australia from the beginning' fortnightly Fridays 9.30am-11.30am during School Terms.
2) Foundation Licences Courses Saturdays 9.30am-11.30am by arrangement are usually on a one-to-one basis, leading to Assessment.
3) Other meetings are listed HERE from tme to time.
Club Activities & Events
Excursions are listed HERE from time to time.
The Club endeavours to assist local Scout Groups during JOTA if required and participates in the 'John Moyle Field Days' in the Ravensvourne National Park.

New History Courses usually commence early in February and finish early in December each year.
Short Foundation Licence Courses are listed HERE from time to time about a month prior to them commencing, however don't wait for a course to be offered, contact Matthew below.
Assessments are provided as required on a one-to-one basis by contacting the Assessor/Learning Organiser Matthew Weatherley VK4TMW (07) 4698 7775.
Upcoming Courses and Assessments
The Wireless History, Operation & Construction Course is in progress this year ending in December 2008. New Course due to commence February 2009.
Foundation, tutorials are provided for as required. Standard tutorials can be provided as one studies the Radio & Electonics School Discs.
Advanced tutorials can be provided to assist a candidate while studying the RES Advanced course
