Introduction

The "North West Tas. Amateur Television Group" was formed as a Radio Club to enable amateurs and interested persons to be actively involved in activities and other pursuits of the Hobby, to work together as a Group, with a minimum of politics.

The main aim of the Club is to foster interest in the Hobby, promote and provide training and assessments particularly within the youth of the Community. ATV, SSTV & IRLP via Radio are also amongst the many activities the Club is involved with.

Meetings

NEXT MEETING IS SCHEDULED FOR
SATURDAY 4th. December, 2.00PM.
VENUE - QTH Tony VK7AX (5 Kywong Crescent, Ulverstone).

Note.. This will be a GENERAL MEETING
At the conclusion of the meeting we will be treated to a talk on the important aspects of
lightning protection and correct earthing procedures to minimize damage to our equipment
during electrical storms and activity.
The discussion will be headed by Paul VK7HPD, who is currently employed by Aurora.
Paul will be assisted by Jim VK7JH, a past employee of Aurora who has had lots of experience also
in this area. We look forward to this discussion on what is a very important subject.

As usual, everyone is welcome to attend.

Club General Meetings are held Bi Monthly on the first Saturday in the months of February,April,June,August,October and December. commencing at 2.00PM Local Time.

The main venue for the meetings is The Ulverstone Lions Club Facility, Showgrounds, Flora Street,
West Ulverstone, although venue can be changed to other locations as required.

Club Activities & Events

Some current activities of the Club include

- Provision of Amateur Radio promotional kits for
introduction to schools in the area
- Assist the Scouts with Jota/Joti as required.
- Encouraging activities in ATV & SSTV both
analogue and digital.
The Club has two(2)70CM ATV repeaters
currently out of service, however anticipate
reactivation shortly.
- Operates and maintains 2M.(146.775)and
6M.(53.775)voice repeaters VK7RTV at Gawler.
- Operates and maintains 2 IRLP & EchoIRLP Nodes
6616 & 6124.
- Run an analogue sstv Gateway on 145.625MHz.
Investigating a digital SSTV gateway.
Provides Amateur Radio Related Broadcasts Every
Night of the week, commencing 8.00PM Local.

Various Amateur Radio Broadcasts are aired nightly during the week on the Club's 2 & 6M. Repeaters VK7RTV 146.775 & 53.775 plus ATV 444.25 / 449.75 and eQSO "ATV & SSTV Chat" Room of VK7AX.
The WIA National News and VK7 Regional News can also be heard on the above frquencies each Sunday at 9.00AM and repeated at 7.30PM (Local Tassie Time)
