5 Band DXCC Award
Award Description
These awards are available to all Radio Amateurs who submit evidence of having worked 100 approved current entities with no "Deleted" entities, on each band. The 5 Band selection is of your own choice totaling 500 entities.
(The word "entity" denotes Countries and Special areas combined.)
Rules
"Deleted" entities are not accepted for this award. Should an entity be deleted from the DXCC list after your approved application has been accepted, credit for that entity will be maintained to Honour the Certificate only, it will be deleted from the award Multiband total tally. Approved entities are those that are accepted for ARRL DXCC Awards, contacts are valid from 1st. January 1946, with the WIA reserving the right to make different decisions in regard to additions and deletions. WIA members that have achieved DXCC from an overseas entity may also apply for this award.
Submissions are approved using multiple callsigns providing they are contained to one DXCC country or entity. Multiple Callsign applications licensed under the same name can only be accepted "once" and are not transferable, they will be registered under the Callsign of the application. (i.e. VK1XXX, VK2XXX, VK3XXX, VK4XXX, = VK5XXX).
WIA progress tally awards (self adhesive labels) are issued at increments of 50 entities.
(550, 600, 650, 700, 750, 800, 850, 900, 950, 1000, 1050, 1100, 1150, 1200). (Purchased separately).
WIA "Honour Roll" (self adhesive label) is issued at the qualifying period. (Purchased separately).
WIA "DXCC Excellence" (self adhesive label) is issued at the qualifying period. (Purchased separately).
"Single" or "Multi-Modes". i.e. Phone = (SSB, FM). CW, Data, SSTV and Open = combined all modes.
Approved bands: HF & VHF 160m, 80-75m, 40m, 30m, 20m, 17m, 15m, 12m, 10m, 6m, 2m.
5 Band DXCC Approved Entity total = 338x5 = 1690. Dated July 2008. (Check National website for updates)
5 Band "Classic" Award is all approved "Traditional bands". 10m, 15m, 20m, 40m, 75-80m.
"Honour Roll" is set at minus -879(approx:52%) less than the maximum current DXCC entities. (809)
"DXCC Excellence" is set at minus -676 (approx:40%) less than the maximum current DXCC entities. (1014)
5 Band "Premier" Award is any choice of all approved 11 bands.
"Honour Roll" is set at minus -775 (approx:46%) less than the maximum current DXCC entities. (915)
"DXCC Excellence" is set at minus -573 (approx:34%) less than the maximum current DXCC entities. (1117)

How To Apply For The Award
Operators using the facility of a registered Official Club Station can also apply for this award providing all contacts
identify their names, the Certificate is awarded to the Club or Association Callsign in the applications name.
The operator must identify his/her membership of the Radio Club or Association in the application.
Club Stations may also apply for this award providing that the operators Callsigns and Names are nominated on the QSL cards as the person who made the contacts, the Certificate is awarded to the Club Callsign in the registered Official Club or Association name.

Schedule of fees 5 Band DXCC awards
Free to all Wireless Institute of Australia members. (One Certificate only)
Fourteen (14) Australian Dollars ($14 Aus) to Australian non-members.
Twelve (12) American Dollars ($12 US) or Ten (10) current Post Office stamped IRCs for all overseas applicants.
