January 2014

Due to the significant workload reduction due to the introduction of the online award system, the 3-band and 7-band awards have been restored, and a 1-band award introduced.

February 2014

Online awards system released. Users can upload ADIF logs, verify paper, eQSL and LOTW QSL, apply for awards and print award certificates online.

Paul VK5PAS has been appointed to Awards Committee.

The Excel spreadsheet system will be supported till the end of 2014, but the online system is the preferred method of applying for awards.

March 2014

WIA Members registered with Memnet can access the new online awards system released. Users can upload ADIF logs, verify paper, eQSL and LOTW QSL, apply for awards and print award certificates online.

A DXer Leader Board is currently being trialed and will be introduced to the General access section as soon as it has been tested. This will provide competition to Online users who chase the DX.

Marc VK3OHM has been busy tweaking the online system and we are now confident it is the best system in the Ham Radio Fraternity.

We wish to thank Club Log for their assistance providing a valuable Data Base reference , which we cannot fault.

DXer of the Year award reintroduced

After an absence of many years, the WIA has reintroduced the DXer of the year award. Brief rules are below:

- The leader board is compiled in real-time for each calendar year.
- Awards will be made for the most DXCC verified, and the most Open, CW, Phone and Digital slots Verified. (First place only will be awarded, but second and third are shown in the Leaderboard.)
- To qualify, QSO must be verified by Paper, eQSL or LOTW.
- All bands are included.
- The winners will be determined at the AGM the following year.

There is a new menu item in the Awards Section "DX Leaderboard". This shows the Top 30 contenders in each of the 5 award categories. As the AGM will soon be upon us, make sure your log upload is up to date.
