All HF, 6 m, 2 m, 70 cm, 23 cm

Other Activities

The operation will be from the Hazelwood South Hall, Tramway Road, Churchill for the full 72 hours. We have no permanent antennas on site, but will erect antennas as required for the operations planned - it will be good practice for Field Day! On Sunday, the initial focus will be on JOTA operations with the local Guide group. Once the Guides have finished, a greater emphasis on working other stations will be possible. Your patience during Sunday daytime will be appreciated. Whilst details have not been fully confirmed, we are planning on operating on HF, 6 m, 2 m and 70 cm, mainly in voice modes, including DV D-STAR operations at times (2 m to VK3RWN-C). Some CW operations may occur, depending upon operator availability. Anyone who might reasonably expect to make successful contact with us on bands higher than 70 cm should make contact with us well before the event with any proposals - we are willing to take extra gear if the interest warrants it. We plan to have a live internet connection, so that the VK100WIA log can help you to find us on-air. Sorry folks - we had a minor hiccup with the last 3 pages of logs - the PDA used as a clock was in 12 hour mode, not 24 hour display. All entries have been updated to 24 hour clock.

Publicity

Local media will be briefed on activities and detailed press release developed. President interviewed by local ABC FM Thursday 14 October. Short article published in Latrobe Valley Express (page 2) on Thursday 14 October.
