About David Ford

David Ford has been an avid electronics and technology experimenter since the 1980's. David's interest in radio started when he was 10 after receiving an electronics kit for Christmas. One of his most memorable moments was building a matchbox sized transmitter that became a very popular item around his school. It was this early background in technology that defined David's career.

Radio Activities

David enjoys anything that involves adventure. He has competed in many offshore sailing events and enjoys four-wheel driving with the family. Arching back to David's earlier 27 Mhz CB days, David now combines his adventurous spirit and love of HF, DX and home-brew; he is currently perfecting a home-brew portable SDR, amplifier and trailer based tower that will be used for HF contests and portable operations.

In David's professional career he has worked with ASX listed companies, as well as local, state and federal government to deliver on technology-based strategies and change programmes. David is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and holds a Master of Business Administration (awarded with distinction).
