About Ross Anderson
I became a naval telegraphist in 1961 and retired as a Warrant Officer Radio Supervisor in 1981 having served on several ships and a number of shore establishments. On retirement from the RAN I became a teacher in the Business Studies area of TAFE at the Johnstone College in Innisfail. Open heart surgery saw early retirement in 1998 when I took a "busman's holiday" and became interested in Amateur Radio.
Radio Activities My particular interest lies with CW and most of my operating is done in that mode.
I do however, do a lot of local work on fone.
I have rigs on VHF, UHF and HF. I am particularly interested in 6m.
Hobbies Camping, woodworking and reading.
I do like vegetable gardening but post Cyclone Larry I have not reestablished my vegetable plot.
Family XYL Bev and I celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary in April 2008. I have two grown children, a boy and a girl, both settled into their respective careers.
