Introduction

The Club was Established 2007
VK3KID is the call-sign of the Sherbrooke Community Radio Club Inc. The club assists in running regular Foundation License courses and assessments along with upgrades to Standard and Advanced License levels. These qualifications are recognised as recognition of prior learning throughout Australia.

Sherbrooke Community Radio Club is affiliated with the Wireless Institute of Australia; our aims are work with Amateur Radio Ham's, schools and youth groups to promote the use and understanding of Amateur Radio. We are an inclusive club that welcomes those who would like to help promote the advancement of Amateur Radio.

Meetings

Club meets at 1st Ferntree Gully Scout Group Hall on the first Monday of each month at 1930 (7:30pm)

Recreation Res (behind Woolworth's on Burwood Hwy), Brenock Park Drive Ferntree Gully VIC 3156
We are in the small hall.
Have a look at the club web site about a week before to see where we will be. We may change the day for contests, Jota Joti etc.

Club Activities & Events

The club is regularly involved in contests, with the group of radio amateurs setting up there equipment, the members working together for the contest, hands on the best way to learn.

Training Courses And Assessment Information

Club courses and assessments are run on a needs basis for the Radio club members and youth groups, we also run courses exams for any interested educational institutions or youth clubs or groups.

You don't have to be a member of our club to sit for you exams we are happy to help you get on the air.

If you would like our club to run or help you run your own course for your School or youth group please feel free to contact us, we will only be happy to help.

Upcoming Courses and Assessments

Sherbrooke Community Radio Club Inc are happy to run Foundation Licence, upgrades to Standard or Advanced including regulations exams at any Club meeting, we always have exam packs for all levels on hand.
If you would like to sit your licence just give us a call and please note, you do not have to be a member of our club to have a assessment, just give us a call and we will help, age is no barrier!

(Please note that there is no Morse code requirements in any level of the Australian Amateur License now.)

If you would like do your Amateur licence exam at any meeting could you let us know beforehand and we will run a exam. Email Jim vk3amn@wia.org.au or ring 03-9754 4862 to book your place, or we can arrange a time and place that works for you.
