About Jim Linton

Jim Linton VK3PC joined the Wireless Institute of Australia as a teenager and shortwave listener. That began a life-time of volunteering including being one of the WIA's longest continuous office-bearers. Roles have included WIA Victoria President, WIA Federal Councillor, News Editor of Amateur Radio magazine and Guest Editor, received the Ron Higginbotham Award from the Publications Committee, was the WIA Exam Service inaugural assessor for VK3, has been a WIA team member for a number of IARU Region 3 triennial conferences, is the IARU Region 3 Disaster Communications Committee Chairman, and the WIA IARU Liaison. Pleased to be able to contribute his marketing and communications experience over the years, including on the WIA Centenary program in 2010. Like two others on that committee - David Wardlaw VK3ADW & Peter Wolfenden VK3RV - he was also involved in the WIA 75 celebrations. An Honorary Life Member of the WIA he was awarded the WIA's highest honour, the GA Taylor Medal in 2011 and the Chris Jones Award for an exceptional contribution to Amateur Radio and the WIA.
