Introduction
The Radio and Electronics Association of Southern Tasmania Inc. was formed in 2004 from the WIA Tasmanian Division Southern Branch. Our clubrooms are located in the former OTC Marine Wireless Station that was built in 1912 to house a spark transmitter for the Mawson Expedition to Antarctica.

The club currently has about 150 members.
Meetings
REAST meets every Wednesday afternoon for social gatherings from 12 noon to 4pm.
The first Wednesday night of the month is the formal presentation night which starts at 8pm.
All other Wednesday nights the ATV experimenters group meet from 7:30pm.
Where: Former OTC Wireless station, Top of the Queen's Domain, Hobart.

There is an active DATV Experimenter's group that meets every Wednesday night from 7:30pm (apart from the first Wednesday night of the month) and operates from the DATV studio.

There is also a weekly broadcast of the WIA National News (9am) and VK7 Regional News (9:30am)every Sunday morning.

Training Courses And Assessment Information
The club has two WIA Accredited Assessors - Reg Emmett VK7KK (also Learning Organiser) and Ian Ellings VK7QF and three WIA Accredited Learning Facilitators - Justin Giles-Clark VK7TW and Alan Jeffrey VK7KAJ. Ian Ellings VK7QF is also a Nominated Assessor who can undertake Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) assessments.
The club runs regular assessments and training courses for all level of amateur radio licence.
