This year, the BERU contest for 2008 teams from Australia, Canada, Great Britain, New Zealand, and a team called "The Rest-of-the-World" were joined by Team Africa.

This year Team Australia, who were last year’s runners-up, amassed a marvellous score of 61,500 to take the title, just ahead of the Rest of the World on 59,700.
Team Australia was captained by Stephen Ireland VK6VZ; included VK2NU; VK4EMM; VK6BN; VK2BJ; VK6HD; VK6LW; VK4XY; VK2MB (G4OBK); VK4BUI

In the Headquarters section VK4WIA made a welcome re-appearance in the hands on Keith VK4TT

Congratulations to all involved for keeping Australia at such a high position even with the low sunspot numbers.

From Phil Smeaton, who said I'm utterly delighted with the result as it shows the prowess of VK contesters on the world stage. I've contacted Steve Ireland VK6VZ to this effect.
