ANZAC Commemoration Press Release

Date : 17 / 04 / 2014
Author : Fred Swainston - VK3DAC

The WIA Board of Directors has completed the preliminary plan for the 2015 ANZAC Commemoration activities. The plan will be located on the web site in the near future. It includes activities with our colleagues in New Zealand, as well as Turkey.

The WIA has in principle agreement with ACMA to use the callsign VK100ANZAC and State and Territory callsigns VK0ANZAC to VK9ANZAC. To access the callsigns, application is to be made on the WIA website where the criteria for applications will be posted. When the criteria is available this information will be sent through the Clubs network. Applications for callsign use will open on 1st June, 2014.

VK100ANZAC will be reserved for significant event dates covering all conflicts where Australian forces have been involved from WW1. The State and Territory callsigns will be made available on a roster basis from the 25th April, 2015 to the Remembrance Day Contest in August 2015.
