An increasing participation is expected this year in the only global on air gathering of those actively involved in the visual medium of amateur television. The annual event which began with the 2011 centenary of Amateur Radio Victoria is now in its 4th year. It will be on Friday August 29 at 1000 UTC in Australiavand then Internationally on Saturday August 30 at 0001 UTC.

Primary organiser Peter Cossins VK3BFG says to maximise the number of signalsvtelevised, stations should work through an ATV repeater where possible. Othersvmay use Skype to reach a local anchor if there is no other alternative and then that signal will be sent to a repeater. Australian repeaters involved include VK3RTV Melbourne-Geelong, VK4RMG Brisbane and VK5RDC Port Pirie. Other VK stations may Skype their contribution.

The international repeaters are WR8ATV Columbus Ohio with Art WR8RMC a developer of the innovative DATV Express, the W6ATN network in Southern California consisting of nine linked repeaters with Don KE6BXT the local anchor, and
GB3HV London. Throughout the world all amateur television users are welcome to join by either arranging a suitable time with their nearest anchor, or watch proceedings through the repeaters or streaming via the British Amateur TV Club website.

Many segments are to be a show and tell with ATVers in their shacks before the camera. A number are preparing for the event. Through VK3RTV there are lots of entertaining contacts including this year the new WIA Club Scheme
supported ATV installation at the Eastern and Mountain District Radio Club VK3ER.
