The Wireless Institute of Australia (WIA) is seeking a Treasurer and an Assistant Treasurer to oversee the financial affairs of the Institute.

This call is for members who are passionate about Amateur Radio and also have the necessary professional skills. Required are yearly budgets based on past performance, attendance at monthly Board teleconferences, interim financial statements the Board, prepare end of year financial reports for review by the WIA Auditor, and presentation to WIA members at the Annual General Meeting. In cooperation with the President and the Executive Administrator, the Treasurer also submits yearly financial reports to the ACMA in relation to the examination, certificate, and callsign work performed on behalf of the Commonwealth.

For a small organisation the WIA is quite complex, being a public membership organisation with many diverse functions, and using accruals reporting. The person ideally would be, or would recently have been, a practicing CPA with experience in the financial affairs of small to medium sized organisations. Experience with MYOB is essential, though daily bookkeeping functions are performed by others.

So far a small number of applicants are currently being considered. All resumes and job applications much reach the WIA National Office by close of business on October 21.
