Introduction

The Canberra Radio Club was established in 1951 at the orginal ABC radio studios in Canberra.
On the 1st of June 1956 amateurs resident in the ACT were issued with VK1 prefixes to their call signs. In 1957 The Canberra Radio Club became the Canberra Radio Society.
The VK1 Division of the WIA was formed in 1973 and following the formation of the National WIA in May 2004 the VK1 Division was dissolved to become the Canberra Region Amateur Radio Club incorporating the assets of the Canberra Radio Society.

Meetings

Monthly Meetings: Usually 4th Wednesday of the month at 7.30 pm for 8pm start.
Open alternative Wednesday nights for Tech Night.

Every Sunday at 0900hrs.local on
146.950 MHz. and 438.050 MHz. Mt Ginini repeaters.
