The Radio and Electronics Association of Southern Tasmania Inc. was formed in 2004 from the WIA Tasmanian Division Southern Branch. Our clubrooms are located in the former OTC Marine Wireless Station that was built in 1912 to house a spark transmitter to assist the Mawson Expedition to Antarctica.

The club currently has about 120 members.


REAST meets every Wednesday afternoon for social gatherings from 12 noon to 3pm.

The first Wednesday night of the month is the formal presentation night which starts at 7:30pm.

All other Wednesday nights the DATV experimenters group meet from 7:30pm. People usually gather from around 6pm.

Where: Former OTC Wireless station, Top of the Queen's Domain, Hobart.

There is an active DATV Experimenter's group that meets every Wednesday night from 7:30pm (apart from the first Wednesday night of the month) and operates from the DATV studio.

The club has two AMC Assessors - Reg Emmett VK7KK and Justin Giles-Clark VK7TW.

The club runs regular assessments and training courses for all level of amateur radio licence.
