Date : 23 / 07 / 2009
Author : Bob Bristow - VK6POP

The WA Hamfest is on again, on Sunday August 2nd, at the Cyril Jackson Recreation Centre, Fisher St, Ashfield. This very successful event is one of the "must do" events on the VK6 Ham Calendar. It is always well attended, with a good number of stalls from clubs, individuals and commercial vendors.

The venue is easy to get to. Fisher St runs off Guildford Road, just past the Bassendean end of the Ashfield Railway Station. You can exit from Tonkin Highway onto Guildford Road.

Hamfest is supported generously by sponsors and donors. These include Yaesu Vertex Standard, Icom Australia, Bushcomm HF Antennas, Terlin Outbacker Antennas, City Online International, Quansheng Communications and Tower Communications.

The WIA will have a stall at Hamfest, with information and promotional material, some merchandise, 2009 callbooks for sale, and back issues of AR magazine for sale, and new members signing up with WIA will receive 3 back issues of AR magazine free.

There will be door prizes and raffles, and the traditional Hamfest Food will be on sale.

The doors open to buyers at 9:00 am
