Remembrance Day 2011
Each year since the conclusion of World War Two the WIA pays homage to those Australian Radio Amateurs who paid the Supreme Sacrifice during those tumultuous years. We do that in the form of the Remembrance Day Contest, this year August 13-14.

Prior to the commencement of the RD contest at 0800UTC Saturday (6pm AEST) An opening address is given by Australian Dignitaries and the WIA. This address , 2011, runs for some 39 minutes prior to the 6pm contest start. It is heard on the vast WIA News Network, check out the weekly news link on this wia.org.au site under "where to hear us".
