ZL100ANZAC gets plenty of action

Date : 28 / 04 / 2015

The commemorative callsign ZL100ANZAC appeared on air on ANZAC Day and immediately was eagerly sought after, including its loud signal into Australia. ZL100ANZAC commemorates 100 years since New Zealand and Australian troops (the ANZACs) landed at Gallipoli, Turkey.

Phil Holliday ZL3PAH reports that for the first two days it had about 3,000 QSOs, keeping the operators and official logger very busy. ZL100ANZAC is on air 80m to 10m using a mix of CW, SSB and Data modes. The New Zealand Association of Radio Transmitters (NZART) has the callsign for a month. A quite commendable log total is likely.
