New Fourth Edition of Ethics and Operating Procedures for the Radio Amateur Released

The International Amateur Radio Union (IARU) Region 1 has officially released the Fourth Edition of Ethics and Operating Procedures for the Radio Amateur, updating one of the most respected reference documents in amateur radio. Replacing the previous Third Edition (June 2010), this comprehensive revision reflects the significant changes that have occurred across the hobby over the past 15 years, incorporating modern operating practices, digital technologies and the latest recommendations for courteous and effective on-air behaviour.

Developed through extensive consultation and careful editorial review, the new edition reinforces the principles that have long underpinned amateur radio worldwide: respect for fellow operators, efficient spectrum use, technical excellence and a commitment to self-regulation.
