Date : 20 / 06 / 2010
Author : Jim Linton - VK3PC

The special callsign for the Centenary of Organised Amateur Radio in Australia moves to the Apple Isle, where members of the Radio and Electronics Association of Southern Tasmania (REAST) will operate from the historic 1912 Coast Wireless Station at the Domain in Hobart.

Justin Giles-Clark VK7TW advises that a multiband – multimode station including some even some digital modes like PSK has been set up with an impressive array of antennas that will be energised on Tuesday the 22nd of June until Thursday the 24th of June. REAST usually does very well from this site and is making an extra special effort for the WIA centenary activity. In particular VK100WIA in Hobart will keep a listen our for any VK6 stations wanting to make contact.

Justin VK7TW has been busy using the WIA Media Kit, issuing media releases and background information sheets and we understand the Hobart news media is showing interest in the VK100WIA event.
