John Moyle Memorial Field Day Contest Rules 2026

Date : 20 / 01 / 2026
Author : Diane VK4DI - Contest Manager

The John Moyle Memorial Field Day Contest rules have been updated after considering all feedback regarding vhf and above frequencies
with discussions with the contest director and managers. Due to the short time left to add the
JMMFD to the vklogchecker site we believe we have the most equitable outcome to suit all
operators. We can look at this as a trial run and any changes can be discussed re next year.

SIMPLE SCORING
Scoring across all frequencies is the same. This allows one N1MM UDC and a single contest
entry on vklogchecker.

MULTIPLIERS
Multipliers kept for VK P2 AND ZL only
Multipliers are included for both SSB and CW. If CW has no multipliers on prefixes, then there is
no incentive to operate on CW when you can stay on SSB and earn multipliers. 2 points for CW
instead of 4 because of this.

MICROWAVE SCORING
There is no distance scoring on microwave, but every new prefix multiplies your total log score.
If you have 200 prefixes one microwave contact is worth 200 points. And in another 8 hours it is
worth 1000 points for example. Once you work VK1-9 etc you run out of new multipliers there is
a huge incentive to go microwave.

MULTI HOME STATIONS
Multi home stations are included to allow those who are unable to go portable or have an
inability to join in the portable fun.
NO COMBINED HF and VHF+ RESULT.
Less categories and imbalances in scoring.
