The Wireless Institute of Australia is looking forward to welcoming Affiliated Club Presidents from across the country to the next WIA Affiliated Clubs Presidents Webinar, taking place at 4:00 pm AEST on Sunday 12th July via Microsoft Teams.
WIA Affiliated Clubs Coordinator Angelo Giuffre VK2NWT has encouraged all Club Presidents to attend, noting that an invitation, meeting link and final agenda have been distributed by email. If a Club President is unable to participate, another member of the club's committee is welcome to attend as their delegate. Any club that has not received the meeting details should contact Angelo as soon as possible via clubs@nationaloffice.wia.org.au.
These regular webinars provide an important opportunity for clubs to engage directly with the WIA Board, share ideas with fellow club leaders, and discuss initiatives that support amateur radio across Australia.
Topics on this month's agenda include updates from the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA), progress on the Radio Electronics School, development of a national Emergency Communications (WICEN) 5 MHz usage policy, club support initiatives including grants, and discussion on the most effective platforms for inter-club collaboration and communication.
WIA Vice-President Peter Schrader VK4EA also advised that the WIA Board has decided to meet fortnightly to maintain momentum on the growing number of projects and initiatives currently underway. The increased meeting frequency reflects the Board's commitment to delivering practical outcomes for members, affiliated clubs and the wider Australian amateur radio community.
The WIA encourages every Affiliated Club to ensure they are represented at the webinar and to take advantage of this valuable opportunity to help shape the future direction of amateur radio in Australia.
