If you use DMR, now is a good time to make sure your RadioID.net account details, particularly your email address, are up to date.

With digital voice continuing to grow in popularity around the world, the organisation responsible for managing the global pool of DMR identification numbers has introduced a new annual verification process, effective from 1 July 2026. The change is designed to ensure the limited supply of DMR IDs remains available for new operators while keeping the registry accurate and current.

Under the new process, RadioID.net will send an email each year on the anniversary of your account being created, asking you to confirm that your assigned DMR ID is still required and that your account information remains correct. Users who do not respond risk having their ID temporarily deactivated and, after a reasonable period without contact, removed from the database and made available for reassignment to another amateur.

For Australian operators using networks such as VK-DMR, BrandMeister and other DMR systems, the message is simple: check that your registered email address is still valid and watch for the annual verification email. Spending a minute today could save you the inconvenience of losing your DMR ID tomorrow.
