Looking for a fun excuse to get active on the 12 metre amateur band?
Irish amateur Ian EI3LH has come up with the delightfully unofficial "Midnight Runners" challenge. The idea is beautifully simple: make 12 contacts on the 12 metre band and you've earned the right to display your Midnight Runners badge. No prizes, no paperwork, no heated committee meetings.
Just a bit of radio fun, which is refreshingly rare in a hobby that occasionally enjoys arguing about antennas more than using them.
Whether you're operating from home, activating a park or summit, or simply calling CQ, it's a great excuse to dust off 24 MHz and give the band some activity.
Have you completed your 12 on 12 yet?
