Tune In Tonight: RAOTC September Bulletin and AGM Coming Up

Date : 07 / 09 / 2026
Author : RAOTC & Peter Dowde VK7PD

The Radio Amateurs Old Timers Club of Australia, RAOTC, September bulletin goes to air tonight, Monday 7 September, with RAOTC members and non-members alike invited to tune in and join the callbacks afterwards. This month's feature comes from Clive Wallis VK6CSW, who explores some of the history behind the common RF coaxial connectors that have accumulated around amateur radio shacks over the decades. Because apparently having half a dozen incompatible connectors in one drawer wasn't enough, we also needed a history explaining how we achieved it. Full transmission times, frequencies and modes are available on the RAOTC website, and the bulletin can also be downloaded as an audio file for those unable to listen to one of the scheduled transmissions.

RAOTC members are also reminded that the Club's 2026 Annual General Meeting will be held at 12 noon AEST, 0200 UTC, on Thursday 17 September at the Caulfield RSL, 4 St Georges Road, Elsternwick, Victoria. Members unable to attend in person can participate by Zoom. To obtain the videoconference link, email raotc@raotc.org.au and request the AGM connection details.

A special thanks goes to Peter VK7PD, who regularly keeps listeners around Australia informed about the monthly RAOTC bulletin through the WIA National News Broadcast. The RAOTC broadcasts combine amateur radio history, technical material and Club news while giving amateurs around the country another reason to switch on the radio and participate. Tune in tonight, enjoy the September program and don't disappear at the end. Join the callbacks and let the team know you're listening.
