Texas BPL Pilot Project Shuts Down, and the ARRL Withdraws interference Complaint

Date : 30 / 03 / 2005
Author : Chris Jones - VK2ZDD

An Irving, Texas, BPL pilot project has shut down and the equipment has been removed. In mid-March, the ARRL called on the FCC to shut down the system and issue fines for causing harmful interference to Amateur Radio communications. The Irving BPL test site is one of several to be shut down following complaints from Amateur Radio operators.

The WIA hopes that any Australian BPL operator would take similar steps
if the installation was found to cause interference to licensed radio users. Read the full details via the following Link
