His Excellency Major General Michael Jeffery, AC, CVO, MC, The Governor General of Australia to open the RD contest
This years RD contest will be held on this weekend of August 11, commencing at 0800Z. The RD broadcast we commence 15 minutes before the start of the contest with an opening address by the Governor General. This is Australia's most popular contest and we would ask that everyone try to make at least a few contacts over the twenty four hours that the contest last.
