WRC-23 Preparations Continue

Volunteers representing the IARU and member-societies are participating actively in the preparations for the next ITU World Radiocommunication Conference (WRC-23).

Virtual meetings have taken the place of travel during the pandemic, but the work continues to represent the amateur and amateur-satellite services to national administrations, regional telecommunications organizations, and ITU-R Working Parties (WPs). The WPs form the structure of the ITU-R Study Groups.

WP5A is the focal point for ITU activity on behalf of the amateur and amateur-satellite services, among others. WRC-23 preparations on agenda items potentially affecting amateur radio also are being conducted in WP4C, WP5D, and WP7C.

While not directly related to WRC-23, important work is also being done in WP1A, WP1B, and WP3L. IARU is participating in each of these Working Parties.

The terms of reference of these and other ITU-R WPs as well as the Study Groups may be found at the ITU website: Link
