Introduction

Taree & District Amateur Radio Club Inc. is a small but active club with members spread across the Manning Valley and surrounds. The club maintains 2 voice repeaters that cover the membership area.

The late Geoff Hunziker, VK2BGF and a small team of amateurs formed the Taree Radio Club in about the mid to late 1970's. During the years since, various amateur call signs have been obtained, thanks to the tuition and support of Geoff and others, who provided classes for prospective amateurs.

New members are always welcome.

Meetings

Club meetings are held on the first Tuesday evening of each month. Meetings commence at 7.00pm local time.

For the venue of the next meeting, inquire on the club's repeaters or email the secretary as a different venue is used each month.

Members and visitors are most welcome to attend.

NOTES :
. The club does not hold a January meeting.
. Club nets will continue each Monday evening on the 2m repeater.
. Advanced notice.. March meeting is the club's AGM

Club Activities & Events

The club conducts a net on Monday evenings at 1930 hours on VK2REE 146.675 MHz. The net controller uses the club callsign VK2FRE. All licensed amateurs are invited to join in.

Both the VK2REE repeaters are now operational from their new site on Mt. Ganghat. The 70cm repeater is on 438.325MHz and the 2m repeater is on 146.675MHz, ctcss tone 123.

The 70cm repeater is C4FM/FDMA and FM capable. It is setup AUTO IN and analog FM OUT. It transmits a CTCSS output tone of 91.5Hz so older transceivers can silence the buzz sound of digital signals. Set your Tone Squelch to 91.5Hz, if you desire.

The 2m repeater requires a CTCSS access tone of 123Hz. The INPUT accepts both C4FM/FDMA digital and analog FM mode signals and the OUTPUT signal is fixed analog FM. The repeater also transmits a CTCSS tone of 123Hz to enable mobile or remote stations to determine the required access tone.

ECHOLINK is available on the 2m repeater.
