Introduction
The Whyalla Amateur Radio Club Inc (W.A.R.C.) - VK5BWR.
The Club provides a meeting place for people who share an interest in Amateur Radio communications and to encourage and help those interested in obtaining an Amateur Radio Operator's Licence.
W.A.R.C. have WIA Exam Service accredited assessors to provide a service for examinations in Whyalla.
Our current membership includes people from Adelaide, Clare, Cowell, Port Augusta, and Whyalla.
W.A.R.C. actively promotes amateur radio through a "radio net" held twice a month on air.
The Club also holds a monthly meeting and encourages attendance of those interested in the hobby.
Meetings
Meetings at 7.30 p.m. (local time) on last Wednesday of each month - at Whyalla Homing Society Clubrooms, corner of Rudall Avenue and Bradford Street, Whyalla.

Club Activities & Events
Join us for the VK5BWR Club Net - first and third Wednesday of the month - on 3.680 Mhz LSB +/- QRM at 8.00 p.m. (local time).
Net dates for 2011:
> June - 1st and 15th
> July - 6th and 20th
> August - 3rd and 17th
> September - 7th and 21st
> October - 5th and 19th
> November - 2nd and 16th
> December - 7th and 21st
The purpose of the Net is to allow members - local and remote - to contact each other via amateur radio communications from the City of Whyalla and to maintain contact with all possible participants.
Although the Net is based in Whyalla, all amateurs on frequency are welcome and encouraged to check in and participate.
This is a directed Net. Net Control will request initial check in by full call sign stated phonetically. After Net Control acknowledges you, please identify your station by repeating your call sign, stated phonetically, followed by your name and your city of residence / or location. Each call will return the Net to the Net Control.
If you are listening to our Net - but we can't hear you due to the conditions or you are only rx and not tx - we encourage and ask you to email us please.
