The Brisbane Amateur Radio Club was started in 1977.The club meets at the Queensland Maritime Museum at the southern end of Southbank.Visitors are always welcome to attend our meetings and if you wish to join the Annual fee is $20.00.For information regarding the club ring Les,VK4SO on 0411 729 642 or email parkerlf@optusnet.com.au

Meetings

Meetings are held on the 2nd and 4th Friday of the month,meetings start at 7.30pm. The 2nd Friday is our social meeting,the 4th Friday being the business meeting.

Entry via rear gate to museum without the normal admission fee.Parking avaiable on site. Easy walking distance from River Plaza City Ferry stop and Southbank City Cat stop.

For entry after 7:30 pm on evening club nights, when Museum closed to the public, call VK4BA on 146.550 MHz FM simplex for access.
The club also has a 70Cm repeater.The repeater is undergoing tests at Redbank Plains.The frequency is 439.950Mhz out and 434.950mhz in.No subaudible tone is required for access.Also the repeater is able to be accessed from 2 metres 147.425mhz and operates from 0730hrs and 0915hrs Monday-Friday only

Club Activities & Events

"Barcfest"is the club's annual get together for all amateurs.It is held on the day before Mother's day each year at the Mt Gravatt showgrounds.
There are 3 club nets, one on Monday night commencing at 8pm on 28.450Mhz.The second is at 8pm Wednesday night on the club's repeater vk4rba
439.950mhz out and 434.950mhz in.The 3rd net is held at 0800hrs mon to Friday also on the club's repeater

Members and non members welcome
There is also an unofficial net each day,Monday to Friday at 8am on the club's repeater,VK4RBA 439.950 with 5mhz ofset
