Introduction

Welcome to the Hervey Bay Amateur Radio Club Inc

The club's Yaesu DR-2X Fusion C4FM Digital/Analog FM repeater is located along the River Heads Road at the same site as the commercial broadcast FM transmitter KIX FM, our callsign is VK4RHB, 146.650 Mhz -ve offset, it runs in AMS mode so it will auto switch when either a Digital or Analog FM signal triggers it, if a station running Analog FM hears a bucket load of static coming from the repeater it is in Digital mode, if they press their PTT the repeater will switch back to Analog FM, we welcome any reports as to its coverage.

Our Club website is at http://hbarc.org.au and maintained by our webmaster Dave VK4DP, Dave can be contacted via the contact form on the Contact page, there is a link to our Club Facebook page there too, Our club also has a QRZ.com page at

Meetings

There is a rag chew, eyeball, drink coffee/tea at the club room every Saturday, someone is usually there from 0900 EST

The Club's monthly meeting is usually every 3rd Saturday of each month, starting 0930 EST at the club room located at the back of the SES complex at 103 Old Maryborough Road, Pialba with a BBQ afterwards, please park outside of the complex in the front carpark or in the street, remember do not block access by SES personnel.

Visitors will be made very welcome.

Club Activities & Events

The club runs a HF net on Thursday nights, now starting later at 08:00 pm EST, this has helped most people to get there especially in summer when people tend to have dinner later, 3.615MHz, all welcome.

There is now a 160 meter net on 1.848 Mhz on Wednesday night also starting at 08:00 EST, this net was started by Terry VK4HQ or VK8TM (depending on which direction the wind is blowing at his QTH ;-) it has proven to be an interesting exercise in propagation and antenna construction, if you can hear us please check in.
