- Central Highlands ARC AGM report held on the weekend of 28th to 30th September 2012.

The Central Highlands Amateur Radio Club AGM Weekend was held at Camp Fairbairn Outdoor Education Centre near Emerald last weekend.
Many hams and support crews turned up from as far north as Townsville, from as far south as Gold Coast to partake in yet another stellar ham gathering.
Quite a few took part in the Saturday Lunch Sausage Sizzle with Steve and the cooking crew catering.
The serious part of the weekend, the Annual General Meeting, was held during Saturday afternoon.
Apologies were received from John/VK4FNQ, Mark VK4YM/VK4KMR, George/VK4AJL, Tony/VK4HOG, Noel/VK4NL, Silent Keys were acknowledged and a minutes silence was held in respect for Michael Owen VK3KI and Geoff Sanders VK4KEL.
After the Minutes from the previous AGM, the Presidents Report, the Secretary's Report and Treasurers Report were accepted, Chairman Steve VK4SMW declared all positions vacant and handed the meeting over to member Gavin VK4ZZ to conduct the election of office bearers for 2013.

The results are
President - Steve Wood VK4SMW
Vice President - Rob Waegele VK4TW
Secretary - Helen Wood
Treasurer - David Jones VK4VU
Committee Member - Roy Moore VK4RM
Committee Member - Gordon Loveday VK4KAL
Committee Member - Harry Cox VK4LE
Technical Officer - Steve Wood VK4SMW
Publicity Officer - Neil Balkin VK4MKY
Webmaster - Neil Balkin VK4MKY

The meeting thanked Gavin for the smooth running of the election and Steve VK4SMW continued as Meeting Chairman.

The meetings acknowledged with acclaim the Life Member status of
Mel Lees VK4ML
Richie Chappel VK4RR/VK8RR
David Wilson VK4UN
Dot Loveday & Gordon Loveday VK4KAL
Harry Cox VK4LE

Chairman Steve informed the meeting about some
of the things the Club was involved with during the year, including -
- visits to various sites, including two to Hodgsons Range to upgrade equipment.
- the difficulties distances cause in promoting amateur radio to the general community
- finalising negotiations on the Blackdown Tableland lease with DERM.

Members voted unanimously for the club to adopt the draft incorporation constitution formulated by Rob VK4TW with input from many members and guidance from the QLD Office of Fair Trading. Members also unanimously voted Rob VK4TW as the point of contact for the incorporation of the club.

A presentation of certificates and service and presents were made to Gordon and Dot Loveday for their ceaseless volunteer work they have done for the club for many years. Members applauded the presentation with acclamation.

- then it was Monster Auction Time.
Gavin VK4ZZ was the Auctioneer of Renown,
Rob VK4TW was the Scribe of Doom,
Bill VK4XZ as the Sharp Eyed Spotter.

This monster auction was an assortment of quality apparatus, ranging from modern to heritage to mysterious, but was eclipsed by the famous gastronomic delights baked up by Jocelyn VK4JJ and Dot Loveday. Cries of angst were heard from a cruise ship far away cruising Asiatic Russia, when Clive/VK4ACC had found out that he had missed out on his favourite monster auction items - edible ones !
Thanks to the eager participation by everyone who attended the final result from the auction will go a long way towards funding the licence fees for the extensive repeater network operated by CHARC.

With the Monster Auction ended it was time for the famous CHARC BBQ feast where everyone's appetite was truly sated by gastronomic delights - AND desert !
Once dinner was over the multi-prize Raffle was drawn by a variety of special attendees.
