Introduction
First established in 1988 the Tablelands Radio and Electronics Club Inc. (TREC) is the leading club in Far North Queensland. TREC is located on the Atherton Tablelands - about 50km SW of Cairns, in beautiful Tropical Far North Queensland, Australia. Situated about 750m above sea level on the Atherton Tablelands (a volcanic plateau) the area provides a ideal place for radio operations. TREC members have an interest in amateur radio and electronics.
Foxhunts are conducted with great enthusiasm regularly on Sundays with our popular sausage sizzle afterwards. The club is also active in the VHF/UHF area of operations and regularly participates in field day contests.
TREC operates 3 repeater stations as well as the club station.
VK4RTA 146.675Mhz - 600 shift at Longlands Gap
VK4RBK 439.900Mhz - 5Mhz shift at Bones Knob
VK4RHT 146.850 - 600 shift at Hann Tableland
The TREC club station callsign is VK4WAT
