Introduction

The Hunter Radio Group (HRG) has been going since 1922 and meets every month in Newcastle. Members also catch up for on air callbacks after the weekly news broadcast by VK2AWX on Monday nights and on the local VK2RNC VHF and UHF repeaters.

HRG operates a 30 minute weekly news broadcast via VK2AWX at 7:30pm on Monday nights on the following frequencies: 146.900 MHz in the 2 metre band, and 438.025 MHz in the 70cm band. Callbacks are taken after the broadcast.

The VK2RNC repeater and beacon network operates from Mt Sugarloaf.

Meetings

HRG meets on the second Thursday of the month at the Tighes Hill TAFE, Newcastle. The meeting starts with General Business, followed by a guest speaker on technical topics.

Place: Tighes Hill TAFE, Basden Building J, Newcastle.
Time: 6.30 p.m.
Ending: The evening generally concludes around 9 p.m.
