Introduction

Ballarat Amateur Radio Group Inc. has been operating since the late 1960's and has about 50 members.

There is a reference to the Ballarat Amateur Radio Club in the June 1923 edition of the Ballarat Star news paper. Our historians are trying to find the linkage.

We moved into new clubrooms in January 1997 at the local airport.

The rooms are located in Unit 31.

After 2 years of hard work getting the new club rooms from what they were to what they are now,

we have set up a radio shack, construction room and a main meeting hall for our many activities.

We have done some recent renovations to the rear area and now have a larger workshop area.

We also installed in the main room area a split system air conditioner.

Installed better lighting over tables for the practical construction nights.

The rooms have been cabled with cat 5e cable for the networking of computers.

Meetings

The BARG holds monthly meetings.

These  alternate between Friday evenings and Saturday mornings to cater for the different commitments of members and other interested people.

The Friday meetings are usually  held on the last Friday of the month, starting at 7.30pm.
The Saturday meetings are usually held on the last Saturday of the month, starting at 11:00AM and are usually followed by an opportunity for a chin wag over a couple of Snags 'n Sauce in bread.

If you arrive early you will  find the doors open about 30 minutes earlier.
