Suburban Clubs

Since 1969 WANSARC has been providing amateur radio and electronics enthusiasts in the Northern and Western Suburbs of Melbourne with a forum for the sharing of knowledge and experiences. The club has a good balance of young, not so young, and spiritually young members, with a wealth of experience and knowledge available to members in the fields of amateur radio, electronics and computing.

Meetings

WANSARC meets on the 1st Friday of every month (excluding January) at 1930 hours. The venue for meetings is the ERN ROSE MEMORIAL PAVILION, Seaver Grove, Reservoir, on the banks of Edwardes Park Lake Reservoir.

The club also conducts a VHF net each Tuesday evening, commencing at 1930 hours local time. Club frequency is 146.450MHz FM and club callsign VK3AWS. The net controller will vary so please listen on the frequency and feel free to participate in the net. ALL amateurs are welcome to join the net.

Club Activities & Events

WANSARC is a club which invites all family members to share in our hobby.

The club hosts lectures, participates in tours to facilities, construction nights and general natter nights.

The club holds three major social events during each year, the WANSARC FAMILY DAY in January of each year, CHRISTMAS IN JULY for members and their families in July of each year and the WANSARC Christmas Dinner in December of each year.

The club invites participation from family, friends, partners and others for all of these events.

WANSARC also participates in the John Moyle Field Day competition, with a growing band of enthusiastic members.

WANSARC has won the 6 hour multi-operator all bands category for the last five years 2007-2008-2009-2010 and the most recent 2011 competition.
