Introduction

This long established club which began as the Midland Zone of WIA, Victorian Division, serves the Bendigo/Castlemaine area of Central Victoria. It is an active club that promotes the hobby of amateur radio locally and provides training and assistance for anyone interested in qualifying as a radio amateur

Meetings

General Meetings
The Club meetings will be held at:-
East Bendigo Community Hall
35 Lansell St, East Bendigo VIC 3550
@ 7.30pm on the 3rd Friday of each month except December.
3 meetings a year are held in the Castlemaine scout hall, Contact secretary@barec.org.au for dates
Both members & visitors are welcome.
As soon as COVID-19 restrictions are lifted

Club Activities & Events

* Monthly meetings- with technical discussions.
At the moment BAREC are looking at on line club meetings.
* Maintains the VK3RCA repeater (see club website for details of other area repeaters).
* Workshops and technical demonstrations.
* The club rooms will be open each Wednesday from 10am to 1pm
* Morning Coffee get together in Castlemaine, last Sunday of the month.
* Electronic workshops for Children.
Again as soon as COVID-19 restrictions are lifted, activities will resume.

Club On-air Nets:
* 80m - 3.655MHz, LSB +/- Thursday evenings at 8pm local time. May change to 8.30pm local time during daylight saving.

* 2m - VK3RCV repeater 147.150MHz FM Tuesday evenings at 8pm local time. Time does not change for daylight saving.

* Special Interest Groups include but not limited to CW, Micro Processors, Sota, Pota, JOTA,
